Ron Valentine
Ron Valentine is the President of Premier Energy Solutions. He is a registered Professional Engineer with 22 years of extensive experience in business start-up and development, management, operations, engineering, marketing, and sales.
Prior to joining Premier Energy Solutions, he managed the creation, start-up, engineering, and ongoing operation of LG&E Enertech, a subsidiary of LG&E Energy Corp. that provided capital improvements to customer's facilities, funded from resulting savings. He hired, retained, mentored, and developed a professional staff of registered Engineers, Project Managers, Technical Specialists and an Accountant. He oversaw each stage of 65 projects from concept through construction and operation, completing $36.7 million in capital construction projects. He managed the energy guarantees (totaling $4.5 million annually) by devising and managing stringent estimating, measurement and verification standards. He recruited and managed strategic partners among architectural and engineering firms, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, lenders and suppliers.
Prior to forming LG&E Enertech, Mr. Valentine was a Product Manager in the Marketing, Planning and Regulatory Affairs department of Louisville Gas and Electric providing program, product, and project development and market assessments for commercial and industrial customers. He championed the reorientation of the utility from a service provider to a strategic business partner by coaching employees to understand customers' business needs and championing innovative solutions. He performed detailed technical and financial evaluations to determine feasibility of customer-owned cogeneration and cooling systems. He championed the marketing plan development that provided in-depth research and defined utility's game plan to develop top 25 revenue-generating accounts.
Prior to his engagement at Louisville Gas and Electric, Mr. Valentine spent 8 years with Houston Lighting and Power Company. As a Senior Engineer in the Large Commercial and Industrial Accounts department he provided consulting to commercial and industrial customers. He performed complex technical and financial analyses and consultations on reciprocating engine and gas turbine-driven cogeneration systems, steam turbine drives and electric motor drives. He performed marketing surveys of industrial customers to determine thermal and electrical energy requirements while looking for electrification opportunities. He conducted energy utilization and conservation solutions and trained, mentored, and provided technical expertise to employees and customers.
Prior to working with Houston Lighting and Power, Mr. Valentine worked for Carter and Burgess (Engineers-Planners) in Houston, Texas as a Mechanical Engineer providing design and engineering services for building HVAC, air-distribution, and other mechanical systems for commercial and institutional facilities.
Mr. Valentine received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Louisville in Louisville, KY and is a registered Professional Engineer in Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee and Texas.
